Knights Defeat Black Bears 2-1

One week after playing in the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota, the Black Bears loaded the bus for the first of two games in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Friday night.

Maryland fell to the Knights by a final score of 2-1.  Although the Black Bears outshot the Knights by a margin of 31-28, they could only capitalize on one of their four power play opportunities. The Black Bears lone goal came with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game with the goalie pulled while on a power play by Asger Petersen assisted by Jake Sujishi. Goalie David Tomeo made 26 saves on the night as the Black Bears slipped to 2-3-2 overall.

The second and final game of the weekend series is scheduled for 3:30pm Saturday.
