The Black Bears played their second game of a two game series Saturday afternoon against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, ultimately falling 3-2 in overtime after losing 2-1 Friday night.
Black Bears goaltender David Tomeo made an astonishing 49 saves in the contest, however, the Knights goalie turned away 48 of 50 Maryland shots as each team surrendered season highs for shots allowed on goal.
Conner Pooley opened the scoring for the Black Bears on the powerplay with an assist from Marek Wazny but the Knights ended the first period with a 2-1 lead. The only scoring of the second period came late as the Bears tied it up on a goal by Joseph Mancuso. The game required extra time and with just 16 seconds remaining in overtime the Knights were able to find the back of the net.
The Black Bears are on the road next weekend and return home to Piney Orchard Ice Arena on October 12th and 13th.
