Black Bears Use NAPHL Tender on Forward Bobby Batten

The Maryland Black Bears signed their NAPHL Tender to U18 Valley Forge Minutemen Forward, Bobby Batten. Batten is familiar with the Black Bears organization as he was at their camp over the summer in Rockville, Maryland.

Batten is a 6 feet tall 181 pound Forward that has shown serious progression this season. He has played for the Valley Forge Minutemen’s 18U team in the AYHL and NAPHL this year. In the AYHL, Batten played 11 games scored 6 goals, and had 4 assists. The Phoenixville, Pennsylvania native has scored a goal and 4 assists in his 11 games in the NAPHL thus far.

“Bobby is a big kid with lots of character and skills,” said Head Coach Clinton Mylymok. “He is hard to play against and we are happy he chose to tender with us. He had other options and felt this was a good fit for him. We agree!”

Batten will attend the Black Bears main camp next summer to compete for a roster spot. This move will serve as one of the mandatory NAPHL tenders for the Black Bears.
