Today, the Maryland Black Bears organization announced their new front office. The front office will consist of President Robyn Remick, Director of Game Operations & Marketing Coordinator Kristine Perry, and Media Relations Manager Colin MacCarthy.
Robyn Remick – President
Robyn Remick is the first female President of an NAHL team in the league’s 24-year history. Remick comes to the Black Bears after an award-winning career in marketing and sales for companies including ESPN, Disney, Telecommunications Inc., and MTV Networks. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S in Journalism.
Born in Baltimore, she’s lived all over the country and recently relocated from Orlando to Reisterstown, Maryland with her husband Allan and dog, Buddy.
“I’m thrilled to have joined the Black Bears!” said Maryland Black Bears President Robyn Remick. “I look forward to serving Black Bear Nation and its surrounding community and partnering with sponsors to grow mutual opportunities.”
Kristine Perry – Director of Game Operations & Marketing Coordinator
Kristine Perry is originally from Seattle, Washington and earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from Washington State University. She relocated to Maryland in 2011 to follow her now husband, Ron, who was stationed at Joint Base Andrews. Recently, Perry completed her master’s degree in Sports Management from George Washington University in January of 2018. Perry is no stranger to junior hockey.
Perry is no stranger to junior hockey. She worked as a personnel coordinator for five state youth all-star hockey teams in Washington state. Bringing twenty-one years of marketing experience to the Black Bears, Perry has a background in casino marketing and worked for H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Racing, an extreme motor racing sport of jet-powered hydroplanes that can reach speeds up to 200 mph.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to dedicate my career to helping young athletes pursue their dreams, gain higher education, and grow as people,” said Maryland Black Bears Director of Game Operations & Marketing Coordinator Kristine Perry. “This position with the Black Bears allows me to do just that and I am grateful.”
Colin MacCarthy – Media Relations Manager
Colin MacCarthy is a born and raised Washingtonian (DC) and graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of the Arts in Government and Politics.
MacCarthy brings four years of communications experience from his time as a staffer on Capitol Hill. During this span, he worked for Congressman Scott Peters of San Diego as his Press Secretary, now-retired California Senator Barbara Boxer as her Director of New Media, and Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey as a press and legislative intern. Colin is also currently a Social Media Coordinator for the Washington Redskins.
“It’s a very exciting time to be part of the Black Bears organization,” said Maryland Black Bears Media Relations Manager Colin MacCarthy. “Hockey in the Maryland region is on the rise and I can’t wait to amplify the progress being made by this franchise and its surrounding affiliates.”
