The Maryland Black Bears clawed their way to a 4-1 victory to complete a weekend sweep of the Northeast Generals. The Black Bears wasted no time in building their lead with two first period goals. Black Bear Forwards Jonathan Young and Luc Salem both lit the lamp with assists from Spencer Silver, Matteo Menotti, and Captain Quinn Warmuth. Even though the Black Bears were outshot by the Generals 12-10, the Black Bears were able to capitalize on their opportunities. Black Bears Goalie, Kevin Lake, stood strong between the pipes by denying all twelve shots in the first.
The second period was a hard-fought defensive battle. No goals were scored on either side, but the Bears applied heavy pressure outshooting the Generals 12-7. The Black Bears continued the high-intensity play during the third period. Luke Mountain took over and scored two goals to finish the game, which led to Mountain being named the First Star of the game. Kevin Lake earned the Second Star of the game with his excellent goalie play. Lake saved 28 of the 29 shots he faced for a .966 SV%. Jonathan Young, who scored the first goal of the game, claimed the Third Star.
