Today, the Maryland Black Bears traded Forward Ethan Heidepriem and an undisclosed draft pick for Springfield Jr. Blues’ Forward, Aaron Swanson. The Black Bears continue to stay active before the February 10th trade deadline as they prepare to solidify their final roster and fight for a coveted playoff spot in the NAHL East Division.
Aaron Swanson is a 5’10, 175 pounds, and was born on May 10th, 1999. The Sun Prairie, Wisconsin native has 11 goals and 10 assists in the 21 games he played for the Jr. Blues this season. Swanson, the now-former Captain of the Jr. blues, will bring another veteran presence to the franchise and a player who has proven himself as a leader.
Head Coach and General Manager Clint Mylymok issued the following statement:
“Aaron is a three-year NAHL veteran, and was the Captain in Springfield,” said Mylymok. “He is another Junior A experienced player, who will bring some hard-nosed play, as well as goal-scoring to the equation. We look forward to seeing him in a Black Bears’ jersey this weekend.”
This was the first season in Maryland for Ethan Heidepriem. Heidepriem scored 5 goals and 16 assists in 21 games played with the Black Bears.
Mylymok continued, “The organization wishes Ethan all the best as he moves on to the next part of his hockey career.”
