The Maryland Black Bears looked to continue its successful stretch of games after sweeping both the New Jersey Titans and the Johnstown Tomahawks. And riding the first shut out of the season from Michael Morelli, the Black Bears did just that as they took down the Northeast Generals for its fifth straight win by the score of 2-0.
The scoring didn’t start until the late stages of the second period, where Maryland forward Daniel Colabufo scored a slap shot goal to make it 1-0. Colabufo received a cross-ice pass on the power play from Branden Piku and buried it for the first goal of the game. The next and final goal came with just over three minutes to go in the game as Black Bears’ forward Garrett Szydlowski scored on a wrap-around goal to make it a 2-0 final score. Maryland goaltender Michael Morelli made 36 saves in the win.
The Maryland Black Bears and Northeast Generals will face off again on Saturday, April 17th at Piney Orchard Ice Arena. Puck drop will be at 6:30 PM ET and the game can be streamed on HockeyTV.
