It was a win-or-go-home situation for the Maryland Black Bears, as they trailed 2-0 in its best-of-five second-round series with the Maine Nordiques. And after a hard-fought 60 minutes, the Nordiques held on for a 4-1 win and advance to the Robertson Cup Semi-Final.
Maine struck first with a goal from defenseman Andrew Noel to make it 1-0 in the first period. Maryland responded with a goal from forward Hunter McCoy to tie the game 1-1 with a shot from the far circle. In the second period, Nordiques defenseman Mathew Connor scored off a point shot to make it 2-1. Maine got two goals in the third period from forwards Jack Strauss and Caden Pattison to make the final score 4-1. The Nordiques win the series 3-0 and will head to Blaine, Minnesota for the Robertson Cup Semi-Final with its opponent TBD. As for Maryland, its historic season comes to an end.
