The Maryland Black Bears are pleased to announce the hiring of Clint Mylymok as the club’s first head coach and general manager. Previously, Mylymok was the head coach and general manager of the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for four seasons.

Mylymok brings a wealth of hockey knowledge and experience to the Black Bears organization. Throughout his junior hockey coaching career, Mylymok has consistently developed players for the next level, advancing players to Canadian Major Junior and NCAA Division I. Coach Mylymok has also held various positions for Hockey Canada select teams including Head Coach of Team Saskatchewan U-16’s and as a scout for Team Canada U-17’s.

“I’m both honored and excited to lead this club through its inaugural season,” said Mylymok. “The NAHL attracts some of the top junior players from around the world and our mission in Maryland will be to develop quality hockey players and place these young men into NCAA programs. We’ve also got a quality talent pool in our backyard here in the Washington, D.C. area that we expect to draw from.”

Mylymok will spend the first few weeks on the job scouting Maryland’s pre-draft camps and preparing for the June draft to build the team’s inaugural roster. Due to the short time frame between Mylymok’s hiring and the draft, prospects are being directed to pre-draft camps to be evaluated by the new coaching staff.
