Due to Covid-19, the NAHL and the teams within it have had to make several difficult decisions. In recent weeks, the Topeka Pilots and Corpus-Christi Ice Rays have both made the decision to suspend play for the 2020-2021 season. The NAHL wanted to give the players every opportunity they could to play this season, so they held their first ever Dispersal Draft.

With the ninth overall pick in the Dispersal Draft, the Black Bears selected Connor Sullivan. Sullivan is a 5’10, 165-pound defenseman from Plymouth Massachusetts who has committed to Yale University to continue his hockey career. This will be the 2000 birth year player’s first season in the NAHL, after posting 7 goals and 38 assists with the Boston Bandits of the NCDC last season.

The Black Bears also had the twelfth pick of the Dispersal Draft, where they selected goaltender Josh Langford. The 2001 birth year goalie comes from Frisco, Texas after spending last season with the Topeka Pilots. Langford appeared in 14 games for the Pilots, posting an impressive 2.24 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. The 6’4, 185-pound goalie has committed to play college hockey at the University of Maine.
