ODENTON, MD – The Maryland Black Bears and defenseman Joseph Borthwick have agreed to terms on a tender for the 2020-2021 season. Borthwick is coming to the Black Bears from the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League). In his first season with the Storm, he was able to total 14 points in his 37 games with the team. While he spent last season in Canada, Borthwick hails from Northville, MI. Joseph is a 2000 birth year player and Coach Mylymok is extremely excited about the prospect. Mylymok had the following to say about the addition of Borthwick:

“Joe is an elite skating defenseman, that will bring Jr A experience, and mobility to our defense. He was highly sought after within our league, and we are excited to add him to the mix. We feel his skating ability will allow him to do some great things in Maryland, and we are excited to see him join Black Bear Nation.”
