– The Maryland Black Bears have traded their 2021 5th round NAHL draft pick to the Shreveport Mudbugs for Forward, Jack Smiley.

Jack Smiley is 6’4, 205 pounds, and was born on July 15, 1999. The Washington Crossing, PA native brings size and additional veteran experience to the Black Bears’ attack. Before the Mudbugs, Smiley played for the Corpus Christi IceRays (NAHL) during the 2018-2019 season. This season he has 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) and 94 PIM over 35 games played.

Head Coach and General Manager Clint Mylymok issued the following statement on the trade:

“Jack brings some veteran, NAHL experience to our team, and knows how to compete at this level,” said Mylymok. “He’s a high character kid, and is a welcomed addition to the locker room.”
