The Maryland Black Bears continue to be active as the trade deadline and playoffs approach. Monday evening, Head Coach and General Manager, Clint Mylymok announced that the Black Bears have traded Andrew Takacs (G), an undisclosed draft pick, and a tender to the Odessa Jackalopes for Aaron Randazzo (G) and Hunter Brackett (F). The move by Coach Mylymok brings another college committed player to the team in goalkeeper Aaron Randazzo, a St. Cloud State University commit.

Andrew Takacs has been a part of the Black Bears organization for a portion of each of their first two seasons. He appeared in 2 games last season and 25 games this season. Takacs was solid between the pipes for the Black Bears this season, posting a .899 SV% and a 3.25 GAA.

Aaron Randazzo was born and raised in Annapolis, MD. Randazzo and Hunter Brackett both joined the NAHL this season and spent the entirety of their rookie seasons with the Odessa Jackalopes. Randazzo has been steady in the crease, having a 2.92 GAA and a .916 SV% for the year. Hunter Brackett will bring some needed depth to the Black Bears roster. The forward has tallied 6 points and 66 PIM this season and will be looking to add to that total with the Black Bears.

Head Coach Clint Mylymok had the following to say on the transaction:

“We are excited to bring in Aaron Randazzo and Hunter Brackett,” said Mylymok. “Both are experienced Junior A players, and bring strong leadership qualities to the team. Aaron is a proven winner and an extremely driven athlete, both on and off the ice. Brackett is a very competitive individual who brings a little more toughness and hard-nosed hockey to our team. We welcome these two to Maryland, and look forward to having them in the lineup this weekend.”

Coach Mylymok continued, “The Black Bears would like to thank Andrew for his time in Maryland. We appreciate his contribution to the Maryland community during his time with us and wish him all the best.”
