CLINT MYLYMOK – HEAD COACH/GENERAL MANAGER

Clint Mylymok is the club’s first head coach and general manager. Previously, Mylymok was the head coach and general manager of the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for four seasons.

Mylymok brings a wealth of hockey knowledge and experience to the Black Bears organization. Throughout his junior hockey coaching career, Mylymok has consistently developed players for the next level, advancing players to Canadian Major Junior and NCAA Division I. Coach Mylymok has also held various positions for Hockey Canada select teams including Head Coach of Team Saskatchewan U-16’s and as a scout for Team Canada U-17’s.

Sam Shaheen – Assistant Coach 

Sam began his coaching career in 2014, at only 18 years of age. That first season, he was with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies AAA program, as well as Grosse Pointe South High School in Michigan, where he developed a future Division 1 talent in Adam Pitters. In 2020, Sam took his first Junior Hockey job, with the USPHL’s Detroit Fighting Irish. He took a program with 12 wins the previous season to a 20-win season. The following year, Sam brought the program to 23 wins, the highest since the 2015-2016 season. Sam made the jump to the newly branded Motor City Gamblers for the 2022-2023 season. In that year, the Gamblers finished with a total of 29 wins between the regular and postseason; the most since the 2014-2015 season. He also led the team through a 14-game win streak from January through March. Sam’s excellent motivation and player recruiting skills help him quickly turn around programs and turn them into winners. As a player, Sam played for the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies and Macomb Dakota High School, before making the jump to Junior Hockey, where he played for the New York Aviators. Sam won the USPHL National Championship with the Aviators in the 2013-2014 season, showing that Sam has played a large role in building winning cultures on and off the ice, both as a player and coach.

Russell Smith – Assistant Coach 

Annapolis native Russell Smith returned to the Maryland area in 2011 following a four year professional career. He spent nine years as the Hockey Director of the Tri-City Eagles before joining Team Maryland in 2020 where he has coached the 2007 and 2010 birth years. Russell currently resides in Davidsonville with his wife and two daughters.

Russell specializes in the skill development of forwards and defensemen. Having played both positions professionally, he has intimate knowledge of the skill sets required for each position. To help shape a complete player; Russell focuses on game application of skills, the development of a full skill set, promoting situational awareness, along with tactics to succeed in various game situations. He helps players develop an understanding of the game, and the intricacies that are involved as they move to the next level of their careers. Through his fifteen years of coaching Russell has had the pleasure of working with and developing players, to include: members of USA Hockey’s Women’s National Team, NHL draft picks, Professionals, NCAA, ACHA, USHL, NAHL, and many others.

 

Amber Radtke – Head Athletic Trainer

Amber Radtke MS, LAT, ATC, NASM-CES joined MedStar Sports Medicine in 2016 after spending 4 years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.  Amber is currently the Head Athletic Trainer for the Maryland Black Bears junior ice hockey team and is a community liaison in the Baltimore region working closely with the Baltimore Union Soccer Club. She is also currently the Head Athletic Trainer for the USA Lacrosse Women’s 6’s team. Prior to taking on these roles within MedStar Health, she was the Head Athletic Trainer at CCBC Essex.
 
Amber earned her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Michigan and her master’s degree in Athletic Training at the University of Kentucky. In 2013 she was the Athletic Trainer for the Haudenosaunee National Women’s Lacrosse team during the FILA 2013 World Cup.  Amber is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist, Hawk grips practitioner level I and II, and American Heart Association HeartSaver instructor. Her special interests include knee rehabilitation, mental health, and emergency medicine and planning. Amber loves traveling, reading books, and selling homemade roasted almonds.

 

Jackson Dolge – Equipment Manager

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Jackson Dolge found a passion for hockey at a young age and grew up playing for MYHA and for St. John’s College High School. After graduating high school, he took a gap year working at St. John’s as an assistant coach and Pure Hockey as a sales associate. He attended Penn State University where he got his bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Park, & Tourism Management, as well as joined Penn State Men’s Hockey as an Equipment Student Manager. He quickly found a passion for the position, and spent all of his free time at the rink learning the details of the job. During the 2023-24 season, he was a full time operations and equipment intern for the Men’s Hockey team. Additionally, he worked with the Washington Capitals equipment staff during their 2023 training camp, a handful of regular season games & practices, and their 2024 Development Camp. 

 

 

Ryan Kosecki – Assistant GM, Scout

Ryan Kosecki has years of experience in the NAHL going all the way back to his playing days with the Soo Indians from 1996-1998. Ryan has spent the last two seasons coaching in the USHL with Muskegon and is currently the Head Coach for the Fox Motors ’05 AAA team. Kosecki is also the current Hockey Director for TPH Grand Rapids. He lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife, Megan and his two sons, Cooper and Harrison. This is Ryan’s first season with the Black Bears.

 

 

 

 

Will Von Brauchitsch – Hockey Operations Assistant

Born and raised in Fairfield, CT, Will fell in love with the sport at a young age and played 12 years of hockey, developing his skills with the Wonderland Wizards out of Bridgeport, including their AAA teams during his midget years. He played four years of Division 1 CIAC varsity hockey for Fairfield Ludlowe High School before attending Southern Connecticut State University, where he graduated with a degree in Sports Management. He also gained valuable experience as a training camp intern for the Baltimore Ravens for three summers. With a deep love for the sport and a passion for hockey analytics, he is excited to join the Maryland Black Bears as a Hockey Operations Assistant. In his free time, Will enjoys watching hockey and football and loves playing pickleball and golf.

 

Rob Broderick – Head Scout

Rob Broderick is the General Manager of the Mercer Chiefs hockey program and Ice Land Arena. Prior to his role with the Chiefs, Rob had served as President of the New Jersey Rockets, Managing Director of the Midget Program and Head Coach of U18 team for 14 years. He was the U.S. Scout for Ottawa Junior Senators in the CCHL for last 5 years.

Rob was drafted by and played for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL and he was captain of his ECAC hockey team his junior and senior years at SUNY Potsdam. Over the past fourteen seasons, his teams have averaged thirty wins per regular season and have made the playoffs every season in the AYHL and USPHL. Prior to joining the NJ Rockets, Rob was the head coach of Team Carolina, with that team being the first in the organization’s history to win the AAA Regionals.

 

 

 

Jason Wolfe – Goalie Coach/Scout

Jason Wolfe is the first Maryland-born goaltender to play in the professional ranks. Jason graduated with honors from Merrimack College with degrees in Psychology and Business Administration.  After graduation, Jason immediately turned to the pro rank by signing with the LA Kings affiliate, the Reading Royals. Jason spent 8 years in the professional hockey playing in the LA Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, and Anaheim Ducks organizations, as well as playing one season for Manchester England in the English Elite League. Upon retirement, he founded Wolfe Hockey Development consisting of two “real ice” training centers and moving on over 100 regional players on to the college and pro ranks. Wolfe also serves as a Goalie Coach to Team Maryland EHL and a scout for the Youngstown Phantoms.

 

 

Chris Barcless – Scout, Mercer Chiefs Director

Chris Barcless is Mercer Chief’s Hockey Director and U16 National Coach. Chris is a USA Hockey Level 5 certified coach who boasts 18 years as a AAA boy’s hockey coach and is a well-known instructor. Chris most recently was the head coach of Pee Wee Minor, Bantam Minor, and U16 National teams. His teams have participated in the national championship tournament four times since 2000 and he has also served as head coach at Hightstown High School and Princeton Day School capturing eight State championships. Chris’ playing experience includes the Little Flyers and Rockets Youth, New Hampton Prep, Geneseo State University, where he was captain of the Ice Knights, and professionally in Europe. Chris is a lead instructor for Learn To Play and skills development clinics at Iceland.

 

 

Austin Luboff – Scout

Austin Luboff joins the Maryland Black Bears’ ranks as a proven scout following his appointment as the National Bound Assistant Coach and Player Personnel Liaison for Team Maryland. Austin’s primary focus will be as the Bantam Assistant Coach but will support the Team Maryland 15U and 16U teams as well as using his expert player judgement for the Maryland Black Bears. Austin joins Team Maryland from the Florida Alliance midget program. Austin has also been a scout for the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League for the past 5 years and will remain a Steelheads scout while at Team Maryland providing further opportunities for advancement for the players. 

 

 

 

Brian Sherry – Scout (Biggby Coffee Hockey)

Brian Sherry is currently the Head Coach of the Black Bear Sports own Biggby U18AAA in Lansing, Michigan, where he lives with his wife, Meghan. With over 20 years of coaching experience, Brian has a distinguished career both on and off the ice. A former player in the NAHL for the Springfield Jr. Blues, Brian went on to excel in college hockey, playing four years at the University of Findlay. His coaching journey spans extensive roles at various levels, including collegiate positions at West Point and Bentley. Additionally, Brian has made significant contributions as a scout for the US National Team Development Program (USNTDP) over a five-year period. Brian’s deep commitment to the sport and his wealth of experience make him a respected figure in hockey, shaping the next generation of players with his expertise and passion.

 

 

 

Tyler Lindstrom – Scout 

Tyler joins as the Minnesota scout for the Maryland Black Bears and Youngstown Phantoms. Tyler currently serves as the assistant coach at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. For the Oles,Lindstrom is in charge of the defensemen and powerplay units. As a team, St. Olaf has won 2 out of the last 3 MIAC playoff titles, which come with berths to the NCAA national tournament. He also works as a player development coach for The Base Sports Performance, based out of Minneapolis. Prior to joining St. Olaf and The Base, Lindstrom coached the Neponset Valley River Rats at both the U15 and U18 levels. As a player, Lindstrom played at Curry College for five seasons, where he was a captain for three of the five seasons. He played 100 career games for the Colonels and graduated with a master’s degree in business administration.

 

 

Ethan Wong – Scout 

Ethan, who was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia joins the Maryland Black Bears as a scout for the Canadian Ontario Region. Prior to working with Maryland, Ethan began his scouting career with TheScout.ca as an area scout for 4 years during which he was primarily responsible for scouting the U16 draft class for the upcoming OHL Priority Selection draft. Additionally, Ethan had been working closely with the Thorold Blackhawks Jr.B Hockey Club (GOJHL) recently as a director of hockey operations for the organization. Ethan brings his dedication and passion for hockey to aspire players to reach their fullest potential and looks forward to working with the Black Bears on their pursuit of the Robertson Cup.

 

 

Brandon McNally – Scout 

Brandon joins the Maryland Black Bears as a European scout. Starting with a stellar four year career at Belmont Hill, Brandon then moved on to play D1 college hockey at Dartmouth. He has spent the last decade playing pro hockey in leagues like the AHL, ECHL, and across Europe.

 

 

 

 

Cory Hume – Scout 

Cory Hume joins as Manitoba Scout for the Maryland Black Bears. Cory currently serves as Canadian Scout for Cedar Rapids of the USHL, and Manitoba Scout for the SJHL Nipawin Hawks. Cory began his scouting career with the Hawks in 2004. In 2010-2012 he coached the Swan Valley Stampeders of the MJHL, and was apart of the MJHL Selkirk Steelers Hockey Operations from 2018-2021. Cory served as Manitoba scout for International Scouting Services from 2014-2023 when they ceased operations. Cory has spent years coaching his children in minor hockey from u7 to u15 AAA. Cory lives in Carberry, Manitoba with his wife Anna and their three children Lily, Mason and Hunter.

 

 

Brant Karsey – Scout 

Brant Kersey joins the Maryland Black Bears as the Saskatchewan scout. Brant resides in Estevan, Saskatchewan where he is the current head coach of the U15AA Bruins. Born and raised in British Columbia, Brant played his minor hockey and his first few years of junior hockey in the Kootenay region. At 18 he made the move to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playing for the Estevan Bruins from 96-99. Following Junior hockey Brant played four years at Div III St. Norbert College. He ended his senior year playing for a national title and then joined the Rockford Ice Hogs.

Post playing Brant has coached and scouted many levels of hockey with a few different teams and outlets. He and his wife Jennifer are business owners and full-time sports parents to a volleyball playing daughter and a hockey playing son. Brant is very excited to join the Maryland Black Bears scouting staff.
