After a frustrating loss last weekend to the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, the Maryland Black Bears looked to get back on track as they hosted the Jamestown Rebels. It was a good back and forth game between the two teams, but at the end of the game, it was the Rebels able to take down the Black Bears on the back of defenseman Lucas Klemm’s goal for a 2-1 win.

Maryland started the scoring 44 seconds into the second period with a goal from forward Tyler Young. Young cleaned up a rebound after teammate Connor Bennett attempted a wrap-around that saw the puck end up loose in the crease. Tyler Young tapped the puck across the line to make it 1-0 Black Bears. Towards the end of the second, it was Jamestown defenseman Luke De Vries scoring on a wrist shot from the point to tie the game 1-1. In the third period, it was Rebels’ defenseman Lucas Klemm pinching in from the point and letting a wrist shot go to make it 2-1 Jamestown, a score that would hold up to be the final.

The Black Bears and Rebels rematch Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET at Piney Orchard Ice Arena. All games can be streamed on HockeyTV.
