Today, the North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced that effective immediately the 2019-2020 regular-season games have been paused until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus. The Maryland Black Bears fully support the league’s decision to prioritize the health of the players, staff, and fans during this time of crisis. As more information becomes available, all updates will be directly communicated through Black Bear channels.

During this league-wide pause, the number one priority of the Black Bears organization is to ensure the well-being of Black Bear Nation. The refund policy for the remaining Black Bear home games is under review and will be communicated shortly. Anyone with questions regarding the pause of the 2019-2020 NAHL season, may email Black Bears President, Robyn Remick, at robyn@marylandblackbears.com.

President Remick issued the following statement:

“The health of our players, fans, and staff is paramount, especially when facing the epidemic that is the COVID-19 virus,” said Remick. “We back the league’s decision to pause the 2019-2020 NAHL regular season. The Black Bears want to get all decisions going forward right instead of fast. We appreciate our fans and everything they have meant to our players.
